EVERY NIGHT BRIDE SCENE:
Madhuram was a child widow and now into her late 40’s still beautiful, taking care of the garden and being a potter she made plenty of water pots and other sizes people ordered this had been her livelihood for many years now.
One fine day her father in law and mother in law both wanted to leave on a pilgrimage and the bald madhuram with her clothes not very attractive and no blouse always stuck to her inside of the house and watered all her plants during the evenings, and took care of these people. Nandavanam her only sis in law was very pally with her as they were of the same age and shared all her work along and each evening madhuram decorated her with the flowers from the garden they had all types of jasmine her favorite and then the red champa which mesmerized just leaving it on the window sill or on the picture of the gods.
Now that nanadavanam married madhuram’s inlaws felt they should finish their pilgrimage as they were getting old, and left first to rameswaram and then on to kashi they said, it has been more than a year since their travel all over the places and small little information through some relative would arrive that they are safe. Maragadham her neighbor now her close friend used to visit here as her sis in law was not around anymore madhuram shared the flowers with maragadham.
Now that her inlaws were not here, madhuram stopped shaving her head totally and it had grown well to her half back where she could tie a bun, she was happy with her hair though covered it well so no one was to gossip about this much, one night after all the work got over madhuram took out all her jewellary and decked herself with that and a silk saree of her mother in law that was there, and she herself felt so happy looking at her self in the mirror, how she has grown into a beautiful woman, and why she should not dress up as raghavan passed away when ten by a viral fever, many of these questions nagged her no end. The saree vendor who brought the bundle came and she got herself two lovely shaded wonderful sarees and also got two blouses stitched, she felt she would change what she could.
Now it is the month of march and all her jasmine were in bloom so she used to tie them up and leave it in a wet cloth to be used later and will always deck her self up while going to sleep, moon was her admirer, it always peeked through the window where none would dare and she would chide it to go away and not disturb her, so this went on for another year and each time she decked she would admire even more and always look into those eyes and long to see what passion actually looked like, what it was that she had missed in life, every thing was a puzzle never to be solved she knew, and if she encouraged all these she may have to shave her head after all to save the sanity. Her bed was spread with jasmine and she would sleep over it or the scented roses she loved the blooms that showed what it could be for a woman to be so, so always a wonderful smell when she got up to go to her daily chore, and all would be swept and cleaned by morning before the other workers landed up to help her in selling her pots and packing away and so on, she was happy no one was around when she dressed and slept the way she did..
