To day is adi perukku:
Now what is this, this is the day in those days they used to open the dams and let the first water out. it used to be open till the 18th step and the month of adi’s 18th day. so all family member try and meet in the urban areas, and make kalavai sadam that is colorful mixed rice day with plenty of vegetables like avail or koottu or moarkozhambu the curd dhall along with plenty of papad or chips, according to the taste of the crowd…..
What is in our house to-day:
Puliyogarey rice, [tamarind rice],
coconut rice,
and sweet coconut rice
with some avail
to go with. all my family members coming over so a good meet for lunch…sunkan
The minute I read Adi Perukku I was reminded of the story Poniyin Selvan by Kalki. There you have the introduction scene of Adi perukku. It is truly magnificent piece of Novel which I enjoyed reading it atleast twice. Murder, Intrigue, Schemes, Counter Schemes, You name it, it was all there in the story.
